I started Hungry Hawaiian at 180 N University Ave Ste 135 in Provo to share the food I grew up with. Hawaiian plate lunches were a big part of my life, and I wanted people in Utah to enjoy those same meals. These recipes come from years of family cooking and food traditions passed down over time.
When we opened Hungry Hawaiian, we focused on classic plates like teriyaki chicken, kalua pork, Spam, grilled tofu, and katsu. Hawaiian food is simple, filling, and meant to bring people together. Our meals remind many families of home and give new guests a chance to enjoy strong island-style flavors in a welcoming setting.
Every dish connects to our food truck roots and family cooking. We serve real Hawaiian comfort food, including furikake garlic chicken, teriyaki beef, and classic plate lunches with rice and macaroni salad. With gluten-free options, catering, and our food truck, we bring island flavors to events and gatherings across Provo. Hungry Hawaiian is open to everyone, offering friendly service and a relaxed, casual space where every guest feels like part of the family.
